Interactive Comic
Daniel Watson
Interactive comic page, experimenting with possible user interactions:
- view from afar
- zoom in to explore and read
- click animations
thinking about short stories:
- lives of the characters
- the abilities/skills of the characters
- an event often has 3 stages - beginning, problem, resolution
In this project Daniel brings his talent for drawing Manga characters and love of stories to an interactive medium, using flash to create a prototype for a bigger interactive comic book.
Clicking each comic cell zooms the view into an animated close up.

Secret Gaming
Gemma Stapleford
At any moment of the day, there are no less than 32,000 business meetings taking place, with an average of 3 people per meeting. That's 96,000 bored people. Many people use laptops to take notes at these meetings. The truth is they would secretly prefer to be beating their top score on their favourite Internet game. The problem is that furious finger tapping that come with game play gives their secret away. This internet game can be played secretly. This could be with your feet, by shuffling nodding or farting. Well probably not farting - we will try to use gestures and movement one would expect to see and hear in a meeting.
Think about what the game is, and how it will be controlled. Use the resources available on line to learn about how top make a game (mentors will also support you here) but keep in mind the main theme - the secret business meeting game. You might even make the game look secret, or tiny, or made out of words. This project brings Gemma's interests in programming, web design and interaction design together.
Follow the link below to see the prototype. Click the wordsearch to make it active. Your arrow keys move the cursor around the grid, and space bar selects the start or end of a word. Pressing "1", "2" or "3" on your keyboard toggles the display to hide your real activity from your boss!

P3 - Public Projection Project
Mariam Elliott
In this project I am going to design a website using skills and techniques that i will develop in the following 10 weeks. This website is going to be all about interesting ways that people can display images and opinions that they would like to share with the rest of the public. This will include Stencil Graffiti, Adbusting and Video Projection onto public buildings and spaces.
I would also like to design an 'auto- stencil' system that allows the public to submit their own images to the P3 website. These images will then be put onto a continuous rotating slideshow which will projected onto a particular wall or building seen by many people. In this way it becomes a public art piece.
